The I-49N, Segment K – Phase 2 Project is part of the reconstruction of I-49 and is from I-220 to Martin Luther King Drive in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. The project consists of three new segmental bridge ramps. There are over 700 precast segments and the segmental superstructure is constructed in balanced-cantilever using ground-based cranes. The segments are typically 10 feet long and vary in depth from 9’ to 13’. Span lengths are up to 260 feet long with cross-slopes up to 8%.
Corven Engineering Role: Integrated shop drawings for the precast superstructure segments; construction analysis; post-tensioning stressing data; step-by-step erection procedures; geometry control manual; three-dimensional casting geometry and casting software; and engineering support during construction.
